Written 14.02.2024 by Craig Goult

On 14th Feb 2024 the inaugural AGM of the newly formed Equine Assisted Services Partnership was held at Hartpury University and College and kindly supported by Godolphin.

The new EASP Board of Directors were appointed at the official part of proceedings.

Over 80 people attended the event from across the sector including funders, practitioners, training organisations, academics and specialists in equine and human welfare.

We were delighted to hear from a wide variety of guest speakers, experts in their field, including;

  • Penny Taylor, UK Charity Manager, Godolphin
  • Dr Rosie Jones McVey, University of Exeter, Social Anthropologist
  • Jo Paul, Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners
    RAMP
  • Jessica Stark, World Horse Welfare
  • Nigel Payne MBE, The Sir Peter O’Sullevan Trust
  • Jennifer Barker and Helen Sharp, Racing to Relate
  • Jennie Wilkinson, ACPEA
  • Rosie Scott-Ward, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Hartpury University

There was some superb engagement about how to evaluate the benefits and outcomes of EAS, social license and what the sector needs to be able to develop and raise awareness of its validity as a genuine alternative to mainstream learning and medical interventions for mental and physical health.

Thanks to everyone who attended and participated. We will us what we learned from you in the work of the Partnership gong forwards.
