EASP were invited to explain the purpose and aims of the Partnership and the benefits of membership at the Equine Assisted & Facilitated Practitioners Network.
Two of the EASP Directors, Sarah Jane Williamson and Petra Ingram who took to platform said that “EASP is the UK membership body for the Equine Assisted Services sector and we welcome everyone who is working in or involved in the EAS sector, or interested in supporting it to grow
We are passionate about having an EAS sector which provides a quality service and ensures a good life for equid partners
This is your opportunity to be involved in the development of a collective voice for the EAS sector in the UK.”

- working together to develop a value proposition to promote what we do
raising awareness about EAS and the benefits it brings, its value and impact to decision makers and funders
further development of standards across all modalities of practice
protecting the welfare of our equine partners by sharing best practices
disseminating sound research and evidence giving legitimacy to the sector
To ensure we are fully representative, we will also be inviting associate members to join us, e.g. in service commissioning, equine welfare, funding, education and research.
EAS Partnership hosts the UK Human Equine Interaction Register (HEIR)
Being approved onto HEIR brings:
- Membership and voting rights about key sector-wide decisions
- Legitimacy about your service to funders and commissioners
HEIR kitemark demonstrates you have met standards in:
- Professionalism – your qualifications and CPD
- Equine welfare
- Service provision and participant/service user engagement
- Benefits and impact of your service
- Governance of your service
